Don't forget ...
Tomorrow we celebrate the opening of the POD at 1pm! We will having very special guests including the mayor, the minister of education and maybe even some TV cameras! We have been asked to dress in nice clothes and to wear big smiles!
Word chips
Today we came up with some different words that mean the same as ones we already know, like said, big, tiny. We used these words lots in our writing and to make our writing more interesting we now have our own dictionary chips! All we have to do is go the the word we want to use: said and pick out a chip that means the same: replied.

Fractions
Today group 4 worked with beans to split numbers into fractions. We started off with 10 and halved it to make two piles of 5. Then we made a pile of 12. We broke this pile equally into 3 different fractions; 1/3 1/4 and 1/2. We noticed that the bottoms number tells us how many piles to make!
